Best Troy Sports Bars
Between Troy's location outside Albany and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute inside the city, there's no wonder that there would be a number of the best Troy sports bars from which to choose throughout the area. Of course, each location has its own personality and cuisine. Here are a few of the best Troy sports bars that will keep you coming back over and over again:
Recovery Sports Grill displays more than 40 high-definition TVs spread throughout its Hoosick Street location, and offers all the major league and college sports games you can shake a Buffalo wing at. Access to all the major sports networks, such as MLB Extra Innings, NBA League Pass and much more makes Recovery a sports bar to be reckoned with.
Offsides Sports Bar & Grill sits at the junction of Hill Street and Ida Street across from Prospect Park, for those who wish to remain on the south side of the city and need a place to watch a game. Its proximity to the park makes it a good place to stop for libations after a day outside, too.
Park Pub Restaurant & Catering boasts a high-definition screen that's 8 feet by 6 feet, and a 25-foot chalkboard for the artistically inclined. Don't just call them a sports bar, however -- Park Pub offers fundraisers for St. Baldrick's Day, a classic Irish meal of corned beef and cabbage on St. Patrick's Day (along with $2 Guinness), and hopping music every time they get a chance.
Ziggy's Sports Bar in nearby Latham, about 10 minutes northwest of Troy, allows visitors to get outside of the city for a bit if they so desire while still not missing the big game. Friendly bartenders are a hallmark at Ziggy's, and the atmosphere makes it a good place to relax and play darts. Take care though, because Ziggy's can get busy on the weekends.
The Pub and Grill is a Cohoes sports bar a few minutes to the northeast of Latham, and almost directly north of Troy. With $1-off drinks from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 13 big screens spread throughout, The Pub and Grill holds its own in the sports bar category.
