Daisy Baker's Fine Dining and Spirits
Daisy Baker's on Second Street sits in a building originally commissioned by the YWCA in 1892. In 1920, it was sold to the Christian Science Church, who used the space for 50 years before selling it to one Harry O. Lee. Daisy Baker's as it was then operated until the mid-1980s, and sat dormant until 2000 when it was reopened by a new owner. Today you can regularly see live bands on many nights and be entertained with the special Daisy Dance Nights.
The Ale House
The Ale House down on River Street is a hopping place for Rock, Jazz, Rockabilly and other fine musical acts on Saturday nights. There are also 11 taps with a rotating selection of domestic and imported beers available for the discriminating customer, so make sure you visit often to take a gander at what they've got. For those who might want some grub with their music, the Ale House also boasts award-winning wings and famous carrot cake along with other fine fare.
Jose Malone's Mexican Irish Restaurant
With a name like Jose Malone's Mexican Irish Restaurant, it's understandable that you might be uncertain about what to expect. That lack of expectation is a good thing, because Jose Malone's combines superb Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine with live Irish music to craft an intense experience on River Street. It's received a number of good reviews and was named the Best Magaritas in the Hudson Valley in 2007 by Hudson Valley Magazine.
Brown's Taproom Kitchen
A trip to Brown's Taproom Kitchen completes the cycle of River Street live music venues. Part of Brown's Brewing Company, which is the sole Troy-based craft brewer, the Taproom Kitchen serves up micro-brewed ales and lagers in a setting that receives live music every Friday and Saturday night across a wide swath of genres.
