The Children's Museum of Science and Technology
The Children's Museum of Science and Technology in Rensselaer Technology Park, recently listed as one of the Top 20 Science Centers by Parenting Magazine, is a collection of hands-on exhibits designed to help interested children and parents explore the world of science and technology. The collection includes exploration of weather systems, computers, an indoor replica of the Hudson River Valley, and energy generation among others. Tiny Tots Tea Room
The Tiny Tots Tea Room in Clifton Park has an open play area for children, and a coffee/espresso area for parents. Unscheduled, unstructured play is the order of the day at Tiny Tots, which also offers birthday parties and summer camp. For the little girl who wants to be a princess, Tiny Tots Tea Room has Princess Academy Camp during the summers. Participants ages 3 to 8 can be dropped off each day at the tea room, and spend the four-week program learning all about what it takes to beroyalty.

The Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom amusement and water park in Lake George, owned by Six Flags, has more than 30 rides and attractions spread throughout the park suitable for all ages. Indian Ladder Farms
At Indian Ladder Farms in nearby Altamont, children and adults are invited to explore the natural world around them. The working farm has a number of seasonal you-pick crops, such as strawberries and blueberries, and a farm store that sells toys as well as other farm-fresh items. There's even the opportunity to visit with friendly farm animals, and dine at the Yellow Rock Cafe on local foods.
