I love contact sports! I am Rugby player and I also compete in olympic weight lifting when I am not on the pitch. I also love being surrounded by my good friends who are practically family to me. I've been a night shift guy for thirteen+ years at a motel, where I get paid to be pleasant, watch plasma TV and drink coffee. Get to be kind to weary travelers, and make them smile with my eruditity(sic). And maybe one day actually write something, what with all the free time and Word on the pc here. A story about a motel. You know the sort: Motel Hell, Friday the 13th, yadda... 'Cause you know these were written by night Audit Clerks. This is a dream job for a wanna-be writer, and who knows? Someday I might actually get published. Meanwhile, this pays the bills.

Like walks in the woods; cemeteries are also nice, and finding edible mushrooms to add to meals. After I got my first mushroom guide, the very first mushroom I took home for dinner was a Hen of the Woods(Japanese mitake) that I found in a cemetery on Hallowee'en! More on this as it developes... I did stand-up back in the early 90's when everybody was doing it. Not that I'm trendy.

I remember when I was 8 or so, realizing that even if the future me could come back through time and give me a heads up, as it were, on how best to live out my life, that the reason I had not done so must be that I would have learned by that far-future time that it would not be the right thing to do.

Weirdly enough, if it weren't for the Boy Scouts of America, I wouldn't be who I am today. Granted, they also had no idea that I would use the leadership skills I cultivated to covertly further the gay agenda. Oops ... Haha. I also am an employee at the AIDS Council of Northeastern New York, and I help to coordinate health care for HIV+ clients that are uninsured/underinsured. Having been w/out health insurance myself for three months last year, I empathize with them, and wake up almost every day with a profound sense of purpose on their behalf.

While I'm biding my time in Troy, I'm trying to address one of my regrets -- that is I've only recently come to an appreciation for the arts. I got some philosophical background when I did my degree, but philosophy isn't literature. I've been working on my aesthetic sense lately, and have been trying to get back into writing. So far I've been focusing on human-driven Sci Fi, but we'll see to what degree this venture will pan out. Dark, psychological stuff tends to appeal to me the most. I saw the director's cut of Watchmen recently and rather enjoyed its deconstruction of the hero.

While I'm biding my time in Troy, I'm also hoping to meet people who are also biding their time. Or like it here. Or are under witness protection after having ratted out the mob and are federally mandated to like it here and are looking for someone to grab some felafel with while discussing how obnoxious our respective pets are.

I'm an easygoing guy who likes to joke around and hang out in places where it's easy to talk. I don't drink, but I also don't mind going to places where other people can drink. I enjoy a few nerdy pursuits, such as comics and sci-fi movies, but I'm not the kind of guy who forces them onto others unless they're interested. Hey everyone. First, I know there is not a picture on my profile and there is a reason for that. When I had a profile before and posted my picture I got countless emails regarding how I looked and almost none about what I wrote. So, for now the picture will not be on here in hopes of finding a man who can read and is interested in what I say and not only what I look like.

I am currently a full time student and full time employee. I do have a very busy schedule but I am willing to make time for a great guy. I've surfed with dolphins in San Diego, walked on a Rocky Mountain glacier, jumped off a Swiss cliff (with a parachute on), have got lost on skis in the Laurentian forest, kayaked around a lake, and been rained on so hard I could not pedal my bike forward another inch.

I also like to take it easy. Pubs, coffee houses, the diner, the living room couch, you name it.

I am an animal person, I want to have a dog when my living/financial situation permits it (preferably a big one, like a Burnese mountain dog).

My sense of humor generally stays in the realm of bad puns and jokes but I can occasionally be quite witty.

I often find myself caring too much which can be rough and hurt me in the end but most of the time, I wouldn't change that if I could.

On the whole, I think I am a decently mellow person and someone who is pretty easy to get along with. I try to keep my mind open, but not so much so that it falls out.

I am a very creative person, whether it be behind a camera, with a paint brush, or finding a solution to a complex problem. Project management is my forte, being that I am just as adept at seeing the big picture as I am at concentrating on the details.

I've travelled quite extensively, and still love to travel, but have been transitioning into more of a homebody lately. This means I will travel, but am pickier about where I go: somewhere I love so much I can't get enough of (Paris), or somewhere I've never been and is interesting enough to take me away from my beautiful home.

I graduated music school about 2 years ago, although I work for an insurance company. I often get excited about the small things in life, like cheesy action movies and cookies.

I try to be as active as possible while having really lazy friends. I try to exercise 3-4 times a week whether going to the gym, rock climbing, running. Lately ive been playing alot of beer league softball and gear most of my exercise toward improving my game. Now the season is almost over, I'll be looking for fun things to do to fill my time.

Everyone says this but it is hard to sum me up in a paragraph or two, honestly my longtime friends still have yet to figure me out. I really can't either. I am the man of mysteries.

My love is strangely not video games or D&D as you might expect. I love magic and theater. I am starting my own magic/theater/special effects company. Performing and being up there making magic come to life for people is greater than any other thrill for me. Travel and adventure rank with magic, I love nothing more than the feel of dust on my boots and the sight of the horizon.

I am a spontaneous, fun loving, and carefree. I have a sharp wit and a good sense of humor. I am on a journey of self understanding I will be till the day I (god forbid) am in a wheelchair and my number is up. I enjoy being out and doing new things from shooting rapids in a raft, to hitting the theater for a play, to seeing the latest movie. I am full of surprises, I even surprise myself from time to time. Better be ready for anything adventure and excitement is usually the name of the game with me.
